Fat Loss Training for Women

Forget cardio and body sculpting classes. Here's a faster way to burn the inches from your body.

And the answer will shock you.

I train a lot of men and women who do the same workouts - and here's the shocker: Most of the time, the women get the best results by using interval training and superset strength training.

Why?

Because most women are doing such ineffective workouts right now, that they are getting no results. Cardio is boring. And possibly doesn't even work. But when they switch to intervals and resistance training, their bodies get lean fast and they lose inches fast!

However, I also sometimes will change the program for women in order - we might reduce the number of sets per exercise or we use body weight exercises in place of dumbbell exercises.

And the reasoning here is this. To "bulk up", bodybuilders need to do a lot of volume (a lot of sets and reps) - and they have to eat a lot, which obviously people aren't going to be focusing on if they want to lose body fat.

Women who want to burn inches from their things are not going to be pigging out. They're going to be eating what they're supposed to.

But back to training. In my Turbulence Training programs we don't have body builder type volume in the first place. So most women, like I said, just train normally on Turbulence Training and don't change it at all - and they lose fat and do NOT bulk up.

However, I sometimes change the program only for a woman's mindset purpose as opposed to an actual physical purpose. Instead of doing three sets per exercise, we'll just do one or maybe two sets per exercise. That way it just decreases the amount of volume and reduces the chance of gaining muscle. So that's the biggest change that I'll make for women.

It really just eases their mind so they won't think they are getting big and bulky.

On the other hand, another mindset change for women is if we use a push up in place of a dumbbell chest press women are much more comfortable doing push ups because they don't associate that with gaining mass.

Push ups are tough, and elevating your feet makes them tougher. So if a woman is using 30 or 35 pounds in dumbbell chest presses, then sometimes they get a little anxious about that so we'll just switch them over to decline push ups.

These push ups are very difficult exercise, still getting the same type of results, same benefits, but now they're not worried about the so-called bulking up.

So, those are the changes I make and I'm not hesitant to say I'm making them mostly to suit the mindset of the person because I know we're not losing results.

And another thing to consider about volume of training is that you don't have to do six different exercises for a body part and four sets per exercise.

Strength training is a very efficient process. So even if you only did one hard set of each exercise you're probably going to get about 75% of the results if you did three sets.

So that's an important consideration for people that are really pressed for time. Men who like to build muscle can do less cardio and eat more.

People just have to realize that if they only have 10 or 15 minutes they can still benefit their body and their fat loss efforts just by training at a reduced volume.

Everyone's a Weight Loss Expert

You are beginning to lose weight. You have bitten the bullet, not the corn chip and you are steadily shaving the pounds off your happily surprised frame. Even the checkout chick at your local supermarket who is 10 kgs heavier than you were at your biggest is going to notice you've lost some weight and tell you what is good for you or even worse, that nothing you do is going to make a long term difference and you might as well give up. "I lost more weight than you, but I put it all back on" is to be expected.

Some close friends who you thought would be pleased as all get out about your increasing health and vitality are going to be spreading horrid little rumours with such negative whisperings as "Well, she's lost a lot of weight, but she's looking very drawn".

Your sister may say rather suggestively "Are you sure you're not losing too much too quickly?" in an attempt to rock your resolve as she pushes her homemade chocolate fudge brownies to well within your grasp.

Be ready for it. It can be damaging to your body and mind if you let it. Don't let this behaviour get to you, no matter who is the perpetrator. Be strong; you've come too far to give in to this negativity.

You have to recognise this stuff for what it is; weight loss envy. These people don't want to see you succeed because they prefer having you the way you were. Your fat loss will scream to the world at large that it is definitely totally possible to lose weight on a weight control diet and regular exercise program, whether the folk around you like it or not.

Calories Fat Protein And Carbs And Water In Your Diet

One gram of protein or of carbohydrate yields 4 calories. One gram of fat gives 9 calories-more than twice as much. Since proteins and carbohydrates in equal amounts yield equal calories, you might think them interchangeable in the diet.

Far from it!

Temperament counts! The new knowledge of nutrition gives proteins an increasingly important role, especially in reducing diets.

It is well worth your while, if you yearn to become a high-stepping, high-protein girl or a gentleman of vigor, to see what the scientists have to say about the role of these energetic food elements in giving you a slim figure.

During the World War, thousands of Europeans became overweight from under-nourishment.

They weren't really fat. They were waterlogged. Their tissues held fluids in such abnormal amounts that when a fingertip was pressed into the flesh, a pit-like depression remained for some time. They also suffered an emotional depression. No steam, no zest for life, no come-hitherness or even any interest in it.

Later, when well-balanced diets became available, this torpidity vanished. The fat, puffy bodies became normally slender and once again the Europeans whistled while they worked. No doubt they also whistled once more at the pretty girl passing by across the street. The water retention from which they had suffered is called edema, and their particular brand of it, caused by inadequate diet, is called "hunger edema."

What element was it in the new and better diets that drove out this surplus water? To a large extent, protein! Experiment has repeatedly proved that adequate protein helps to keep the liquid balance of your body at normal levels. Since 70% of your weight is represented by water in one form or another, you can see what a difference protein can make on your bathroom scales.

A protein calorie is a busy, energetic little fellow running a high temperature. It is unequalled in what nutritionists call specific dynamic action. All you have to remember of this technical term is the exciting word "dynamic". It is an apt description of proteins.

Suppose that every bite of food you ate contained within itself some property that stimulated your body to dispose of every single calorie in the food.

After using what you needed for heat and energy, the surplus calories would be disposed of by your body's chemical activities and none would remain to be stored as fat. Happy days!

Food does have this property of stimulating the body to increased output of energy. That is one reason why you can eat a little bit more than your theoretical needs and not gain an ounce of weight. Eat 100 calories of fat and the food itself stimulates you to burn up an additional 4.1 calories of energy, or a total of 104.1. A like quantity of pure carbohydrate causes an increased energy consumption of about 6 calories.

But suppose you eat 100 calories of protein. Miracle of miracles, it causes an energy output of 130 to 140 calories under ideal conditions!

The beauty of it is that you don't have to exercise or do any voluntary work whatever to dispose of this 30 to 40 calorie bonus-it's all done for you by the action of protein in whipping up your metabolism. In a way, it makes your body exercise internally while you loaf. Calories flutter away from you in the form of body heat.

These 30-odd calories could just as well be stored in your body as fat if proteins didn't make them go to work. As slave-driver calories, proteins are six to eight times as efficient as fats and carbohydrates.

Guide To Weight Loss - Three Things To Stay Away From When Losing Weight

Here are three things that you definitely need to avoid if you want to lose weight. Many people don't even know about what I'm going to reveal right now, and that's one of the reasons why they can't lose weight - because if you eat the foods below then you will definitely put on the pounds. So here's a list of foods you should avoid...

1. "Natural Flavors" and "Spices"

Any package that says "Natural" on the front or the back generally means that the product does not contain any added "artificial" (having no counterpart in nature) additives, but it does not necessarily mean pesticides or other chemicals were not used in processing. Your potato chips that say "natural" could be genetically altered, grown with pesticides, and cleaned with unfiltered water and still read "All Natural!"

What is scary is that natural flavors and spices are assumed to be OK. But what is not OK is that any substance derived from something natural, no matter how dangerous it is, can be classified as a "natural flavoring." What's worse is that if a poisonous chemical is used to derive that flavoring, it can still be called "natural". Many natural flavors are synthesized from Isoprene, which is a known carcinogen! Isoprene stays in the food... it doesn't just disappear!

Manufacturers also hide monosodium glutamate (MSG)-a flavoring which causes headaches and allergic reactions-in their "natural flavorings" or "spices" listings because it is derived from seaweed, a natural product. So clearly, being natural is not the same as being harmless.

2. Irradiated Foods

Food irradiation is done by zapping food with a dosage of radiation. The X-rays are used to kill insects and bacteria, prevent sprouting, and slow rotting. While the process does not make the food radioactive, the chemical structure of the food is altered and there are a number of animal studies that show negative health effects. Some researchers suspect that a regular diet of irradiated food may cause leukemia, other forms of cancer, and kidney disease.

The FDA says it's safe. When you hear that, I want you to think about other things that were apparently safe... such as cigarette smoking, pesticides, asbestos and CFCs. Each of these at one time was classified as safe. The FDA claims irradiation of food is safe and has already authorized the irradiation of fruits, vegetables, pork, chicken, herbs, spices, teas, and seeds. Spices are the most widely irradiated food in the United States. You can avoid irradiation by buying 100% organic spices and foods.

NOTE: Avoid the microwave as well. This type of irradiation affects the chemistry of foods by activating the water molecules inside. If cooking does some damage to enzymes and foods, then microwaving is the equivalent to a nuclear blast, leaving everything once living lifeless and wilted.

3. Chemicals

This is the catch-all... As a general rule, anything that's longer than 15 letters, you can't pronounce and is hyphenated is generally not good for you.

1. We very rarely see children in our practise that need an exercise program put into place.

2. If we are seriously looking for an exercise program for ourselves, we could do no better than to become more child-like.

When you resume normal eating, lipoprotein lipase activity remains elevated and metabolic rate remains depressed, causing you to quickly regain the lost fat, and maybe even a little extra fat as insurance against the next "famine."

Stated differently, the rate of fat storage is increased after a period of calorie restriction, and it stays that way until the pre-diet level of body fat is re-established.

This demonstrates the futility of trying to achieve permanent fat loss solely by means of calorie restriction.

In addition, you invariably lose precious muscle tissue. This further retards metabolism and adversely affects the shape, tone, and functional ability of the body, muscle loss resulting from restrictive dieting ranges from 20% - 40% of total weight.
